I remember sitting in a coffee shop across the street from the Regency Theater on August 17 when I heard that Elvis had just died. I looked out the window, and on the theater marquee it said ‘Coming Next Week - Jailhouse Rock and Elvis - The Way It Is’. These were part of the summer MGM festival, planned well in advance.
