Located at 171 Speers Road in Oakville Ontario Canada.
Opened in 1987 as the “Oakville Ciniplex Odeon” Oakville’s first multi screen cinema it replaced a smaller single screen Odeon located at 131 Speers Road.
Closed in 1999 it’s short existence being at least in part due to the fact that a “Famous Players” multi screen cinema opened in 1989 less than a 10 minute drive away.
This building then became a church “The Meeting House”
Reborn in 2007 as an “Encore Cinema” a small Canadian chain based in Burlington Ontario.
I like to run up the stairs at Scotia Bank just to prove I still can.
I actualy blame myself …
I bought one of them new fangled VCR player things and a whole bunch of cinemas went out of business.

Although the Gregory Family Home survived until the 1990s it spent it’s last 15 years not as a home but as a “Canada Trust Real Estate Office”

For a while in the 1980s and 1990s a lot of movies were filmed in Oakville but I think it got over exposed.
I had never heard of “Alex: The Life of a Child” I will have to see if I can find a copy.
Thank You for posting. I don’t remember the balcony I guess I just never looked up.
I do remember a place called the “Candy Cupboard” located where “Corks” is now.
They did a roaring trade on Friday and Saturday nights with everyone waiting to enter the cinema.
Walking along Lakeshore Road on a Friday or Saturday night always gave me a small town feeling.
