The Showcase 1 & II opened in Farmers Branch on Friday, April 4, 1974 premiering with “The Way We Were” and “Billy Jack.” The theater pretty much tried everything to stay going – first run mainstream films, discount, art, and even adult. Given its 14 year shelf life and being totally hidden from view by its shopping center, that wasn’t all that bad.
