Crown Theatre
The Crown was operated by Crown Theaters and Pampa’s other three theaters, the LaNora, Rex and State were under the Griffith Theater Circuit. That changed late in 1942 when Griffith took on the Crown, closing it for three months for remodeling and re-launching January 17, 1943 with “Flight Lieutenant.” Griffith was overtaken by VIT Circuit which closed the Crown after its second 10-year lease. But a revival appears to be the last booked show about two weeks after the last film’s booking.
