Temple Theater
The Temple Theatre was originally launched in 1901 and though nickel films were worked in infrequently beginning around 1908, the film audiences of Kane went to the Grand Theatre and the Star Theatre in the early silent period. But in December 1915, the Temple signed an exclusive contract with Triangle Pictures and played Paramount Pictures making the business shift to film first and live second. The theatre burned to the ground in 1924 about 12 hours after its last feature of “The Circus” with Jackie Coogan.
