Empress Theatre
Before the Empress Theatre, the same address housed the Dreamland Theatre in 1912 and the Alamo Theatre in 1912-1913. The Dreamland combined film and vaudeville (ad at left) and the Dreamland was all films and generally 5/10 cents (ad at right). But they charged a premium for locally shot films (ad top and bottom). The theatre was outdated and limited so was razed in favor of The Empress Theatre Building in 1914 housing the replacement theater and two businesses.
