Program for Silent Film: Merton of the Movies

November 24, 1924. The second page of a program for the silent film ‘Merton of the Movies' starring Glenn Hunter and Viola Dana. My grandmother gave this to me recently.

This program was my great-great-grandmother’s from 1924. My great-great-grandfather, Felix Reginald, was from Asheville, NC. He wanted to be an actor so set out for Hollywood but only got as far as Texas where he fell in love with my great-great-grandmother Ella “Peggy” Catherine.

They saw films together at Imperial Theatre in the early ’20s and Peggy kept programs and promotional flyers like this one, occasionally notating what night of the week she saw it and who she saw it with. This film is considered a ‘lost film’.
