UA Buena Park 8 Facade & Former Entrance, 2021
The disused entrance to the former UA Buena Park 8 sits tucked away in a very lightly-trafficked pedestrian alley behind the Walmart that stands on the theater’s former parking lot.
The building remains in use as a 24 Hour Fitness with a new entrance on the building’s southern side. The former UA entrance has been walled in, with its glass tiles largely removed from its facade, but is nonetheless still intact.
As of 2021, this alley is accessible to the public, leading to a mall entrance, just barely visible at the top of the stairs. Just beware the warning signs and don’t skateboard, ride your bicycle, or rollerblade back there. It’s under 24 hour surveillance and I can only assume that means the guy in the security office will laugh at your expense if you fall.
