P.J. Sandknop took on the moribund Missouri Theatre that had opened silent in 1919 and stayed silent into 1930. Here, he installed sound and gave the theatre a fresh and a grand reopening as the new talking Missouri Theatre on April 16, 1930 with “Untamed” on the big screen.
