Erie Theatre
Griffith Amusement had taken on the Erie Theatre from building owner and operator O. Gill. Fire on February 1, 1933 at the stage area almost destroyed the building but the fire department did great work to salvage the structure.
A second blaze on the stage and an additional blaze set in the stairwell, determined to be arson, almost destroys the building on May 19, 1933. Gill places a bold ad asking for information leading to those who planned such a dastardly deed and is soon arrested as the mastermind.
