St James' Picturedrome Liverpool
This photograph was taken of the Picturedrome November 1922. It shows the ornate facade of an early cinema building, including how decorative and effective it must have been at night with dozens of electric light bulbs placed around the top of the dome dropping in stages to the canopy above the main entrance. To the far left side was a daily children’s entrance until 6.30 pm. Destroyed by the sterile frontage replacing the charming original.
