Announced in 1946, the K. Lee Williams' Eastern Theatre - named for the Eastern Oklahoma State A&M College in town - was going to be the post-War mecca for Wilburton’s downtown. Even after buying a building and razing it, post-War material shortages and the town’s lack of post-War population growth (stalling at under 2,000) led Williams Circuit to permanently shelve this project.
