Wests Olympia Entrance.
I was fascinated as a child when told in the early years of the great depression that this was a closed picture theatre where my parents and their contemporaries had enjoyed the music of a very fine orchestra during silent films, and the early years of sound. A long, narrow and rather non-descript corridor connected the entrance to a huge auditorium set parallel to Hindley Street. This was one of several theatres established by the entrepreneur T. J. West in Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain.
