Ideal Theater
Pro-Union folks sent two strong messages to the Ideal Theatre for suspected usage of non-union workers in July of 1929. This was the first attempt that emptied a theater and is shown above with all but one child getting out uninjured. The second - a dynamite attack - did the trick causing the theatre to close for some six months and its operator to commit suicide. The Akron Motion Picture Theatre Owners Association had seen enough offering $1,000 to catch the bomber(s).
