Charles Davis takes on the Melody/Jefferson Theatre months after it closes and transforms it to a skating rink in 1963. The two refers to the Melody/Jefferson as “the old Jefferson.” (The original Jefferson Theatre that was left intact is then referred to in the local press whimsically as “the old old Jefferson.”)
