In September of 1961 the management of the Salisbury Theater began presenting special Children’s Matinees. Sometimes a single film would be screened with cartoons and shorts, sometimes they would show a double bill.
These matinees were very well attended, and provided a safe place to park the kids while their mothers got their hair done and did their grocery shopping in the center’s other shops.
