John Highes (John Palladium) in typical pose. He was one of the first people in North Wales to wear American-style jeans. He not only ran the “box” - the projection room - but also repaired early vintage TV sets there. He was an accomplished diver and skippered a small mackerel and lobster fishing boat which set out to sea in the early hours of the mornings to collect lobsters from the wicker pots.
