Taken presumably in early December 2025, as part of a batch of promotional photos taken by Station Casinos, the casino’s operator (where the theater is based in).
I never thought I’d see the day.
PLFs are practically a luxury here in the valley, with Cinemark’s XD and IMAX being the dominant PLFs. However, it seems that Regal has finally taken notice of this, and decided to elevate their game with adding their RPX format, to this theater and to the Green Valley Ranch (when the renovations are done, of course).
From the December 9th article on Station Casinos’s blog, the blurb about the RPX reads: “Movie lovers can continue to enjoy immersive formats like 4DX, equipped with motion-synchronized seating and in-auditorium sensory effects, now joined by the all-new RPX experience showcasing next-generation HDR projection, Dolby Atmos sound, and select seating outfitted with Magnify8 technology for a deeper, more dynamic way to watch their favorite films.”
The term “Magnify8 technology” is a special term for saying that it features ButtKickers, with the Regal app/website specifying that the RPX at the Red Rock does indeed feature ButtKickers.
This RPX debuted with the release of Jon M. Chu’s “Wicked: For Good” (2025) back in November.
