Last call for the Belvidere-Marengo or Bel-Mar Drive-In completing its 20-year leasing agreement on October 21, 1973 and they go out in style with “Crypt of the Living Dead” and “Fearless Fighter” supported by “Hercules & The Captive Women.”
Drive-In fans would have to wait two years and head the other direction to the Bel-Ford Drive-In between Belvidere and Rockford.
And at right is the theater’s opening ad from 1953.
