Bonus ads: The predecessors to Cinema 1 were the original Orpheum Theatre that opened in an existing retail building on June 2, 1910. So successful was it that a New Orpheum Theatre was built opening November 24, 1913. That theatre had an amazing run closing on February 1, 1969 with Ewa Aulin as “Candy.” It was demolished in favor of Cinema 1.
