Normandie
Outstanding Designer & Architect Oliver P. Bernard (1881 - 1939) was invited as a first class guest by the ‘Compagnie Generale Transatlantique’ to complete a comprehensive internal report of the décor and facilities during the maiden voyage to New York on their new liner ‘Normandie’ which sailed from Le Havre 29th May 1935 arriving in New York 3rd June, winning the coveted ‘Blue Riband’. During the voyage to and from New York Bernard completed his reviews which were later included into the brochure published for the future passengers of the ‘Normandie’.
