The St James side passageway had multiple advantages: allowing customer access to the Elizabeth Street main entrance lobby from Castlereagh Street, enabling faster egress from previous sessions, and providing an off street undercover queuing area for intending Stalls section patrons waiting for entry to the next performance, as shown here.
