Bruton Terrace IV
Just before its December 11th, 1970 Grand Opening is the 1,600 seat four plex under the Lee Roy Mitchell’s Texas Cinema Circuit at 8900 Bruton Rd. It was the Pleasant Grove neighborhood’s first movie theatre. It began with a soft launch of repeat films (Paint Your Wagon, It’s a Mad Mad Mad World, Cheyenne Social Club and Woodstock) before a first-run opening of Brewster McCloud. It was unceremoniously excised from the shopping center and there’s still a blank spot where the theatre once stood.
