Sunday November 24, 1963 ad from the Sacramento Bee newspaper. This date was only two days after the JFK assassination. Most of us were still in a state of shock from hearing the tragic news and then witnessing the Lee Oswald shooting of Jack Ruby on live TV that Sunday morning.
Looking for some diversion to take my mind off of the traumatic events of the last two days I went downtown to see a movie. I’m not sure why I chose this rather grim documentary double feature at the Encore (was it the “Adults Only” tagline?) but I did. Probably the only movies I’ve ever seen in my life that I can instantly recall the exact date I saw them!
