Ironwood 8 Cinemas first opened in 1998, but went into bankruptcy in 2011. The next year Jim Sheehan and partners purchased the theater and have operated it for the last decade. Russ Levinson of new York bought the theatre March 19,2022. The theatre was renamed Carson Valley Cinemas 8. The theatre as it has been since opening is in danger of closure once more.
