The equipment in the January 14, 1939 fire was also a total loss alongside most of the entire building. However, the entire front, some side walls, and its marquee and signage survived the fire without a single scratch.

During my recent visit to THS archives in Chicago I found an article confirming W.Scott Dunne as the architect of this theatre.

The date of the fire was 1/14/39, as reported in the San Antonio Express. Damage was estimated at $50,000. The story noted that the theater was four years old, which would have meant an opening in 1935.

This theatre was probably the work of architect W. Scott Dunne.
