Fine Arts Theater

The Fine Arts Movie House was located on Jerusalem Ave. in Uniondale, Long Island in a strip mall……..To me, it seemed that stores in the strip mall were converted to accomidate this very small movie house……I went there twice in the 1960’s, and it played only Revival or "Cult" films……I saw Tod Brownings "Freaks" at one showing and the theater was full……..The second was the 100 minute feature version of the Republic-Super serial, "The Adventures of Captain Marvel"-1941 in 12 chapters, and the house was also full—–this was in the mid-1960’s, as my wife was home with my oldest daughter at the time who was about 3 to 4 years old………It closed, and the site was empty for a while……..My daughter recently went on vacation with her family to he area and she said the strip mall is gone and an apartment complex occupies the site…….
