Auditorio Salvador Brau Building

Opened on 26th January 1949 in the heart of the cultural district of San Juan, the theatre first opened with a seating capacity of 300 and was a broadcasting studio theatre. It was closed in the late-1960’s and remained un-used until 1991. Refurbished in 2001, it includes some of the most modern technology for any event or activity which includes:
-Interactive Teleconferences
-Press Conference
-Presentations of books and products
-Trainings, speakers, and meetings
-Theater
-Talent Shows
-Movie Theater
-Musical recitals

The building was Landmark Listed on 15th April 2003.

In the late 50s or early 60s, late actor Raúl Dávila, the late Helena Montalbán and Axel Anderson, formed the La Máscara theatre company and performed on this auditoriun during weekends for several years. When Raúl relocated to the US, Montalbàn and Anderson continued with the company. I am not sure if Braulio Castillo was part of the company also.

But the building says “Telegrafo” did it have multiple uses?
