Listed in the 1945 Film Daily Yearbook as open and seating 201, the Colonial Theater stood on Main Street in the city of Athens, which is located between Springfield and the New Salem State Park.

The Colonial Theater was closed in 1957. It became a laundromat. In 2018 it is a florist/garden center.

Must have been 213 N Main. It’s still there, as a florist/garden center. Just a modest brick storefront from about 1900.

I’m wondering if we have the right address. The 1922 map shows this building as a garage. Could have been converted later, but there is a movie theater to the south. Not sure if I should add that one as a new entry.
