The Seneca Cinema 8 opened in 1991. It is probably the most modern theater in Oconee and Pickens Counties, SC. The theater is part of the REI Cinemas group and in 2011 improvements included installation of all digital projection and sound, 3D, new seats with retractable armrests, etc . It was briefly leased to Dickinson Theatres in 2004.
