By the 1940’s, the theater had been renamed the City Theater, which operated into the 1960’s. After closing the building housed a carpeting store. It was demolished in August 2024.

This is from Boxoffice magazine in November 1946:
CHICAGO-G&E Theatre Corp. has acquired the Lincoln Theatre and the City Theatre, 3031 N. Lincoln. The latter will be managed by S. J. Angelos. The theatres were previously owned and operated by the CVN circuit.

In the Chicago Tribune the City appears in movie theater listings until 1950, by 1956 an electronics store is listed at this address.
This theatre is now in the process of being demolished.
