This was the first theater in Alameda to be called “Alameda”. It opened July 24, 1909 and closed when the second Alameda Theater (q.v. as Rialto Theatre) opened, on January 18, 1913.
(NOTE: The current Alameda Theater [with which this theater should also not be confused] on Central Avenue is the third in the series of Alameda theaters named “Alameda”.)
