The South Drive-In opened in 1955 with a capacity for 300 cars. Opening night movie was Spencer Tracy in “Bad Day at Black Rock”. The South Drive-In closed around 1982.

The South Drive In is where I saw my first film, “Goldfinger”. I saw many a film there throughout the 60’s & 70’s. It’s a shame there isn’t a pic of it, and the live shot is only close to where it ‘was’, You could see the top of the neon sign crossing the train overpass on the road ahead, it was on the right. Ah, the memories made there..
