My mother was the manager of the Platt Theater and also sold tickets for many years. The owner’s (Waite Kerr) wife (Johnese Kerr) was my mother’s best friend. There was some kind of contest at the theater in which my mother won a Shirley Temple doll. My brother has it today. I hope there was no collusion involved.
Closed in 1955.
