Located in the South County Commons off Route 1, Entertainment Cinemas South Kingstown 8 opened a few years ago and was the only active movie theatre within this area of Rhode Island. It was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 16, 2020. It reopened later and was closed again on November 1, 2020. On March 24, 2021 it was announced that the closure would be permanent.
By 2023 it had reopened by the Shoreline Entertainment Group and renamed All South County Luxury Cinemas.

Isn’t the Narragansett Theater still open?
Not this season…if I am to believe the absence of newspaper ads. And I intended to post that the arrival of this multiplex was responsible to a great degree for the demise of the Narragansett Theatre in nearby Narragansett, as well as the Campus Cinema in Wakefield, which is also in South Kingstown.
Closed temporarily as of November 1, 2020 with plans to reopen in 2021. Just announced today they will not be reopening. https://www.facebook.com/SouthKingstownCinemas/
