Rhode Island’s first and only IMAX theatre was opened in 2000. Its entrance is located across from the one for Providence Place 16, on the level overlooking the third floor food court of Providence Place Mall. It has now been taken over by National Amusements and incorporated into the Showcase Providence Place 16.
It was announced in September 2025 that closure is being planned, but was averted when Apple Cinemas took over.
