Moorestown Theater 1964-65

The Carlton cinema closed in 1963. In March 1964, it reopened as a legitimate Equity playhouse funded by local businessman. The first production was Streetcar named Desire starring movie actor Nina Foch. Shelley Winters also played Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf in the house in the summer of 1965. Many other actors and stars performed during its 2-season run but the theater closed permanently in 1966.
