The Lyric Theater opened in October of 1907. This was a silent-era theater that was closed before 1920. In 1920, a retail store replaced this theater.

Per the Southeast Missourian Newspaper “The Lyric Theater, 23 N. Main St., opened in October 1907. The following month the Lyric was taken over by the Dreamland Theater. ca 1913”
