Illinois' newest drive-in theatre, this one was built from the ground up on a former cornfield just north of the high school in Galva. It opened July 1st, 2005 with two screens, ramps, and radio sound. No speakers but posts are standing to help organize parking efficiency. It was closed on September 6, 2015.

They have not maade the conversion to digital projection but a fund raiser is underway.
a very small screen
A lengthy Copley News Service article, published in the Aug. 12, 2005 issue of the Springfield IL State Journal-Register, provided more details. Justin West, then 41, opened the Galva Autovue and was the projectionist. The screens were 20x48 feet.
Closed September 5, 2015 permanently unable to covert to digital projection.
The Galva Autovue Facebook page says its final night was Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, with “Inside Out” and “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”. In 2018, someone stole its marquee sign. Google Street View shows the screens still up, but few other signs of life. Maybe mark this drive-in closed?
