The Art Moderne-style Roxy Theatre opened in 1940, and could originally seat over 400. The renovated theatre seats 189 and still remained in operation until 2008, showing first-run features. In 2010, a community group were attempting to reopen it. That never happened and by 2022 it was in use as a gymnasium.
