News About This Theater

Orleans Theater

Originally built as a dry goods store in 1893. It eventually became a live theater and was converted to a cinema in 1939, with a capacity for 400. By 1950 it was operated by Affiliated Theaters Inc. of Indianapolis, IN. Restoration began in October of 2005 when it was planned to start a new life as a dinner theatre.

It was destroyed by a fire on April 3, 2013.

Orleans Indiana is working with Ball State in a project to revitalize it’s historic downtown square. At the heart of it’s revitalization plans is The Orleans Theatre.

Great, but might you be able to post again the photo, this time right side up? If you can, I can have the existing one deleted….

Sorry to hear of the loss of any theater…This loss is especially cruel since it was about to get a new life.
