The Cine probably opened in 1986, due to the fact that a 1985 aerial view shows the building not being built yet.

It was the Sunset. I don’t know who owns the property but you may check with the Martin chamber of commerce. The Drive In on the Fulton-Union City highway was the Starlite. It is now a Church property. The screen is still standing and looks to be in good shape. I worked at the Fulton Theatre in Fulton, Kentucky until its closing in 1978. Many fond memories of all the movie outlets from back in the day.

I will confirm that the Cine is still alive and well. I have a question regarding the old drive in theater on the union city/martin highway. I believe it used to be called Sunset Drive-In. Does anyone know if this property is for sale or who owns it? If you do would you email me at I think it would be great to open the drive-in.

This theater is still open with all 6 screens, and is the last remaining theater in Martin. It is located near the Univwersity of Tennessee at Martin.
