Sometime during 1977-78 I visited the circle of the Odeon Southgate with the late Ron Clark of Hedge Lane, N13, who had a whole mass of Gaumont-Kalee 35mm cinema film projectors, sound equipment and spare parts stored up there! I’m not sure whether he was involved with the film screenings using the stalls area or just rented the circle. I have a recollection of him mentioning that he had to move out soon.

Amongst Ron’s possessions was an album of pictures showing the Odeon Leicester Square under construction and newly completed - including the projection room as first fitted out. Amazing! I later met a lady working as a temporary usherette in the Troxy, Commercial Road, Stepney, when an open day was held and she knew who had taken over the album after Ron died.
