The Garfield Theater opened in 1916 with a listed seating of 620. It was located next door to the Garfield Airdome that opened in 1911.
The Garfield Theater closed in the 1960’s and was demolished in the late-1960’s to build the I-65.

No this theater did not close in 1955. I was born in 1956 and went to that theater when I was a young girl..
loved going there intermission and top movies too(2 of ‘em)!!
