Tuxedo Theater - July 1935 Program

The Tuxedo Theater opened in April of 1916. Seating was listed at 980. The theater featured a 2 Manual Louisville Organ. The Tuxedo Theater was a neighborhood house that lasted until 1957 when it closed it doors. It became the Purple Panther dance club in the 1960’s. By 2019 it was in use as a auto tire store.

Address is 4040 E. New York Street and it is still standing. Today it is Romey’s Used Tires LLC. Lower facade and lobby has been encapsulated with vinyl siding. It was Purple Panther dance club in the 1960s. Images added to gallery confirming all.
