Fenwick Theatre

Named after John Fenwick, founder of Salem. Open since at least 1941. Closed in the 1950’s. Had 522 seats on the main level and 200 in the balcony.

Any additional information on this theatre would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to a photo by Seth Gaines on Flickr. This was taken approx. 1 year ago. Looks like it has a store front on it now.

The building in the photo linked above is at 134 W Broadway, not 165 W Broadway like the address on this page says.

The article at http://www.nj.com/salem/index.ssf/2014/12/salem_county_rewind_one_of_salem_citys_popular_movie_theaters_blacksmith_closes_up_shop_moves_out_of.html indicates the Fenwick has been demolished.
