The R Theater was built in 1946. It was a single screen theater with around 550 seats. The building is currently the home of an automotive insurance company called Midwest Classic Insurance.

The R Theatre opened on 11th October 1947 with Betty Hutton in “Cross My Heart. It closed in 1977.
