This theater was originally called the Star Vaudeville Theater.
Later on in the Star’s history, a large balcony was added bringing the total seating capacity to 1,100.
That movie was titled “Singer Jim McKee”. Sorry for the typo.
The Star Theatre closed in May 1929 with the Western movie “Singer Jum McKee starring Bill Hart. It was converted into a store and as mentioned above by ThatOneGuy was torn down in 1956.
The Star Theatre was built using the Greek Revival style. The theater showed vaudville up until 1924 when the owner of the Crocker Theater (next door) bought the building and converted it to retail. The building was later torn down by the Joseph Spiess Department Store in 1956 for a parking lot.
