It’s Christmas Day 1920 and time for the Blue Mouse to launch and the projection room can be seen by the public with glassed front. Here, the Simplex Projectors are ready to show the first feature ever at the Blue Mouse in “The Furnace.”

I am a retired IATSE Local 154 projectionist from Seattle. The old timers in the Local told me that when sound was installed, the viewing windows had to be covered due to patent issues with the sound system that was installed. They did not want anyone to see the booth equipment.
