Listed in the Film Daily Yearbook; 1941 with a seating capacity of 450. In the 1943 edition of F.D.Y. it is listed with a seating capacity of 1,000 and is Closed. By 1950 it has re-opened, still with a a 1,000 seat capacity.
Strange. I posted the exterior detail when I submitted this. The front now is beautiful with lots of nice decorative white cutouts on the facade and little, slim, cylindrical lights on the outside. There’s a dental office on the right and Royal Carpets on the right.
Uploaded a photo from the Beacon Historical Society.
Was this the theater operating in the 80’s in Beacon (the Main Street Theater)? We used to go to that one.
